COLONEL TANYA J. ANDERSON

Colonel Tanya J. Anderson is the Commander of the 374th Mission Support Group, Yokota Air Base, Japan. She leads over 2,700 people in six squadrons and one geographically separated flight to provide combat support and mission-ready forces for the 374th Airlift Wing and 32 tenant units including Headquarters U.S. Forces Japan and 5th Air Force. The 374th Mission Support Group provides security, communications, contracting, logistics, personnel management, civil engineering and quality of life programs for approximately 11,000 military and civilian personnel and assets worth over $2 billion. Colonel Anderson attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, and was commissioned upon graduation through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1995. She has served in a variety of positions at the installation, major command and headquarters levels, and has commanded at the flight and squadron levels. Her contingency experience includes deployments in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM, and ENDURING FREEDOM. Prior to her current position, she was the Readiness Director for the Air Force Civil Engineer Center.
