Information

Yokota Air Base's Japanese - American Friendship Festival 2009 is Aug. 22 and 23. The #5 Supply/ Ushihama gate will be open to pedestrian traffic from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during this time. A fireworks show is scheduled for Sunday evening.

Status of Forces Agreement personnel will not be allowed to sign in visitor's vehicles during these two days.

The closest station is JR Ome Line's Ushihama Station which is a 10-minute walk to the gate. This year's festival will feature aircraft static displays, music, food, game booths and various events throughout the two-day festival. 

Photo identification with your nationality and any items being carried on base will be checked at the gate. However, large bags, alcohol, glass bottles and cooler boxes cannot be brought on base.

· No public vehicle/motorcycle parking is available.
· Bicycle parking will be available near the supply gate.
· No pets are allowed in the festival area.
· Smoking is only allowed in designated smoking areas throughout the festival area.

Handicapped vehicle access requests
Requests must be received by July 15, 2009. Anyone requiring handicap vehicle access must submit their handicapped certification with a Japanese double postal paid card containing their name, address, phone number, date of birth, nationality and vehicle information to the 374th Public Affairs Office Festival Vehicle Pass Request, Yokota Air Base, Fussa City, Tokyo, 197-0001. 

Handicapped persons requiring assistance will be authorized one assistant per vehicle. Please include assistant's name, address, phone number, date of birth, and nationality along with request. 

Due to limited parking, passes will be issued by drawing if the number of requests exceeds the number of available parking spaces. For security reasons, we may limit access for public vehicles. 

Postcards will be sent out to notifying people if their request was accepted or denied for handicap parking by Aug. 14. 

People receiving authorization to park in the handicap parking must read the postcard carefully. This card will include information about which gate you are authorized to come through. If using this service, handicapped passengers and their assistant must present their postcard, handicap certification and photo identification with nationality.
