Colonel Kenneth E. Moss is the Commander, 374th Airlift Wing, Yokota Air Base, Japan. He is responsible for the management, training, command and control of the Department of Defense’s only airlift wing in the Pacific theater. As the Western Pacific airlift hub, Yokota Air Base provides mission ready forces and base operating support to guarantee U.S. forward presence and crisis response.
Colonel Moss is a 1992 graduate of the Air Force Academy and has served in a variety of positions in Air Mobility Command and U.S. Central Command. In 2005, Col Moss was selected as one of 16 students to attend the Advanced Studies of Air Mobility course at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Following graduation from Intermediate Developmental Education, he served as a staff officer at U.S. Central Command, working on the AFRICOM transition team and as the Division Chief, Iraq Strategy, Plans and Policy. Col Moss has also served as a Director of Operations, Chief of Safety, and Commander of the 908th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron. His previous assignment was as the Commander, 43d Airlift Group, Pope Army Airfield, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Colonel Moss is a command pilot with more than 4,000 flying hours in the T-37, T-38, C-21, C-130, KC-10 and C-17 aircraft.
