Biography

COLONEL (DR.) MICHAEL B. BROUGH


Col Michael "Brad" Brough is the Commander, 374th Medical Group, Yokota Air Base, Japan and the Command Surgeon for 5th Air Force and U.S. Forces Japan. He is responsible for the health and wellness of 11,000 personnel at Yokota Air Base, the U.S. Embassy Japan and 16 geographically separated units across the Pacific. The 374th Medical Group is a 19-clinic/15-bed hospital comprised of five squadrons and 485 personnel. As the 5th Air Force/U.S. Forces Japan Command Surgeon, Col Brough serves as the air component surgeon and is responsible for all medical policy for U.S. Forces within Japan.


Col Brough commissioned into the Air Force through the Health Professions Scholarship Program in 2002. Since graduation from medical school, he has served tours as a Resident and Staff Physician, Flight Surgeon and as the Commander, 35th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, Chief of Aerospace Medicine and Public Health Emergency Officer for the 35th Fighter Wing, Misawa Air Base, Japan. He has deployed multiple times supporting Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, ATLANTIC RESOLVE and DEEP FREEZE. Prior to his current assignment, Col Brough attended National War College.


Col Brough is board certified in both Family and Aerospace Medicine. As a Senior Flight Surgeon, he has over 390 hours in a variety of aircraft.
