CMSgt Christopher M. Yevchak is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 374th Airlift Wing, Yokota Air Base, Japan. As the Senior Enlisted Leader of the primary Western Pacific airlift hub, he is the principal advisor to the wing commander and senior staff members in leading 6,300 Airmen and local national employees providing tactical, operational support and distinguished visitor airlift throughout Japan and the Pacific Command Theater of operations. He is also entrusted with the combat readiness, morale, training, professional development and effective utilization of more than 2,500 enlisted members, while supporting the quality of life of 11,000 base personnel. Additionally, he is the functional manager of 12 First Sergeants caring for and supporting Team Yokota.
Chief Yevchak entered the Air Force in February 1995. He graduated from aircraft maintenance specialist technical training at Sheppard Air Force Base, TX in April 1995. His background includes duty positions in Aircraft Maintenance, Air Traffic Control, Additional-duty First Sergeant, Squadron and Group Superintendent. His assignments include bases in South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Missouri, Idaho, Korea, and Japan. He has also deployed in support of Operations ALLIED FORCE, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and NEW DAWN.
Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the Group Superintendent, 366th Operations Group, Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.
