Colonel Michael P. Campos is Commander of the 374th Maintenance Group, 374th Airlift Wing, Yokota Air Base Japan. The group consists of two squadrons providing total maintenance support, including organizational and intermediate-level maintenance, for all assigned C-130J, UH-1N, and C-12J aircraft in the Department of Defense's only airlift wing in the Pacific theater. As the Western Pacific airlift hub, Yokota Air Base provides mission ready forces and base operating support to guarantee U.S. forward presence and crisis response.
Colonel Campos entered the Air Force in 1999 as a Personnel Officer, receiving his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a Personnel Officer, he held key duties in two Military Personnel Flights and served as Squadron Section Commander in three diverse units.
In 2004, Colonel Campos voluntarily cross-trained into the Aircraft Maintenance Officer career field and has experience leading maintenance activities at the squadron, group, and Major Command levels, mainly in special operations.
