Welcome to Japan!

Yokota Air Base is located approximately 30 miles west of Tokyo and is surrounded by five cities and one town in the Tokyo Prefecture. Composed of four groups and 17 squadrons, more than 3,500 military members alongside U.S. and Japan civilian employees make up the 374th Airlift Wing work force, which supports 32 tenant units and a base populace of 12,000. The wing includes the 36th Airlift Squadron which flies C-130J Super Hercules; 459th Airlift Squadron home to UH-1N Huey helicopters and the C-12J Huron.

Base Operator
- From the United States: Call Yokota Operator by dialing 011-81-42-552-2510. After the tone, enter the last five digits of the DSN telephone number or if you don’t know the on-base number, wait for the operator to transfer you.
- From off base: All Yokota Air Base, land lines or mobile phones, dial 042-552-2510 or 042-552-2511. After the tone, enter the last five digits of the DSN telephone number or if you don’t know the on-base number, dial 0 and a telephone operator will assist you.
PAX Travel Info
Special Issuance Passport
All U.S. Civilian Employees and their families and Military dependents will require Special Issuance Passport in hand no later than April 1st 2022 to enter Japan. This requirement is for official travel only. A few examples would include PCS, Emergency Leave, COT, Student/Dependent Travel, and TDY to include those for medical purposes. Please see your local base or post passport office to begin your application. If you are assigned as a sponsor please ensure your inbound teammates are aware and receive Special Issuance Passports for their families before departing.
