Douglas DeLaMater 374th Airlift Wing YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- This week, we welcomed back a team of Airlifters who participated in Exercise COPE SOUTH alongside our partners from the Bangladesh Air Force. Both forces executed a successful and incredibly important mission, demonstrating our combined ability to generate tactical airlift in the event of a contingency or crisis. Together, we flew 25 sorties, dropped 840 paratroopers and delivered 20 low-cost, low-altitude and container delivery system airdrop bundles. Additionally, the exercise featured several "firsts," including a BAF C-130B crew delivering two U.S. Air Force LCLA bundles to designated drop zones. That's proof positive how this innovative airdrop technique is transferable across the Indo-Asia-Pacific region and it translates into increased capability to help people when they need it most. We will continue our commitment to build upon intra-theater relationships with our allies. It's essential that our combined forces are ready to rapidly respond and integrate when the call comes.
