Commander's Corner: Dec. 19, 2014 Published Dec. 22, 2014 By Col. Douglas DeLaMater 374th Airlift Wing YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- This year, Team Yokota supported multiple joint and bilateral exercises and disaster preparedness drills that ensured we emerged from 2014 more capable and ready to support the Airlift mission than ever before. We just closed out yet another successful Operation Christmas Drop--the Department of Defense's longest running humanitarian mission. We also witnessed the return of our Japanese-American Friendship Festival that allowed us to share cultural experiences with the local Japanese communities and build upon the already strong partnership we share. As we wrap up 2014, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the men and women of Team Yokota. Thank you for your phenomenal teamwork and dedication to not only the airlift mission-- but to taking care of your fellow airmen and being outstanding ambassadors here in Japan. This year of successes is made possible by the tremendous service you do for the "Best Wing in the Pacific."
