Commander's Corner: Apr. 18, 2014

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Recently, Team Yokota partnered with units in 5 AF and 7 AF to showcase our unique capability--professional airlift. Maintaining and sharpening our skills through exercises paves the way toward advancing regional security cooperation and ensuring theater stability.

The entire wing is required to launch a formation of C-130s into a major exercise. The maintenance group, in particular, takes special pride in their motto: "Props in the air; maintenance put them there." This week, many of our maintainers had the opportunity to fly on the sorties they helped prepare for flight. It's a rewarding feeling when you see the results of your work as those four T56 engines fire up and take to the sky.

Every Airman at Yokota brings something important to the mission. I appreciate your continued diligence, hard work and commitment to excellence. Through your tireless efforts, we continue to deliver professional airlift here at the Western Pacific Airlift Hub.
