Bean Throwing Ceremony
HINO, Japan -- Jennifer Hamuka, wife of Col. John Hamuka, 515th Air Mobility Operations Group deputy commander, puts on a "Kamishimo," a formal piece of clothing worn by a samurai or a Japanese warrior, during the bean throwing ceremony at Takahata Fudo Temple Feb. 3. During the ceremony, people throw roasted soybeans while shouting "Fu ku wa uchi," which means, "Come in happiness". It is believed that if you eat the number of beans equal to yur age, you will have a happy and healthy life. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Sean Martin)
