YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Yokota Army Air Base commander Col. Edwin Bobzien, center, attends at a party at the Yokota Officers' Club circa August 1946. Bobzien died two months after the photo was taken in a B-29 Superfortress crash. Bobzien Avenue, now known as Airlift Avenue, was named after him, and a street on the west side of base still carries his name.
