459th AS takes to the air for historic formation flight

OVER JAPAN -- Three Yokota UH-1N Iroquois helicopters fly in-line above the Tokyo area during a four-ship "Huey" formation flight over Japan, May 19, 2011. The flight was a historic event for the 459th Airlift Squadron, flying all four UH-1Ns for the first time in nine years. A formation is not easy, but neither is being a good wingman, said Staff Sgt. Christopher Rector, 459th Airlift Squadron flight engineer. It takes practice and concentration to look after each other on and off duty. Yesterday, we were given the opportunity to look after each other in the sky, and we executed the mission flawlessly. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Andrea Salazar)
