Re-dedication ceremony honors fallen firefighters
YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- (From left to right) Moritishi Kobayashi, president of the Akiruno-Yokota Friendship Club, Lt. Col. Wade Rawlins, 374th Civil Engineer Squadron commander, Col. Paul Feather, 374th Airlift Wing commander, and Col. William Knight, 374th AW vice commander, cut the ribbon for the Memorial Garden Re-dedication ceremony here Feb. 16. The memorial was recently relocated to the new fire department facility and honors the 10 U.S. and Japanese firefighters who were killed in Korea in 1951 while responding to a B-29 aircraft crash.
