Yokota Airmen maintain life-saving equipment
YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Airman 1st Class Matthew Ramos, 374th Operations Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment apprentice, test a pair of night vision goggles with an aircrew night vision 20/20 tester Sept. 2. Aircrew flight equipment technicians ensure life-saving survival equipment used by aircrew members is properly functioning by inspecting and maintaining items such as flight helmets, oxygen masks, parachutes, flotation devices, survival kits, helmet mounted devices, aircrew night vision and other ocular systems. They also check anti-gravity garments, aircrew eye and respiratory protective equipment, chemical biological protective oxygen masks and coveralls, and other types of aircrew flight equipment and aircrew chemical defense systems.
