Pacific Airlift Rally 2009 kicks off

SUBANG ROYAL MALAYSIAN AIR FORCE BASE, Malaysia -- (Second from left) Senior Airman Warren Smith, 374th Logistics Readiness Squadron combat mobility flight technician from Yokota Air Base, Japan, views technical orders on how to properly rig for air drops with personnel from Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand air forces Aug. 19 during the 2009 Pacific Airlift Rally here. The PAR is a bi-annual exercise involving Pacific Rim nations which enhances military airlift interoperability with a focus in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations. The exercise consists of a tabletop exercise and a field-training exercise involving three C-130 aircraft from the 374th Airlift Wing at Yokota and one C-130 each from the Royal Malaysian Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, Republic of Singapore Air Force and Royal New Zealand Air Force.
