Pacific Airlift Rally 2009 kicks off

SUBANG ROYAL MALAYSIAN AIR FORCE BASE, Malaysia -- Lt. Gen. Dato Rodzali bin Daud, Royal Malaysian Air Force Air Operations commander, delivers a speech during the opening ceremony for the Pacific Airlift Rally 2009 Aug 18 here. The PAR is a bi-annual exercise involving Pacific Rim nations which enhances military airlift interoperability with a focus in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations. The exercise consists of a tabletop exercise and field-training exercise involving three C-130 aircraft from the 374th Airlift Wing at Yokota Air Base, Japan, and one C-130 each from the RMAF, Royal Australian Air Force, Republic of Singapore Air Force and Royal New Zealand Air Force.
