Innovative Airmen modify mobile A/C unit

Staff Sgt. Kevin Morse unrolls the material used to make the cooling sock for the mobile air conditioning and heating units at the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing in Southwest Asia, Aug. 7, 2013. Morse and Staff Sgt. Henry Crankshaw used cordura material, a nylon fabric, to create their cooling sock, which proved to be more cost effective, tear resistant and more ideal for cooling the aircraft. Crankshaw and Morse are the 379th Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment NCO in change and assistant NCOIC deployed from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska and Yokota Air Base, Japan, respectively.
