Senior Airman Ku Kim, 374th Medical Group aerospace medical technician, marshals a transient MC-130J Commando II at Yokota Air Base, Japan, June 12, 2023. Marshaling an aircraft is a procedure that is accomplished by directing a pilot with signals to prepare an aircraft for departure or arrival. Kim acquired hands-on experience with this responsibility while participating in the first edition of the ‘Maintainer for a Day’ program, hosted by the 374th Maintenance Group, and successfully prepared an aircraft for launch.
