Aoki Shijegi, mikoshi shrine craftsman, prepares mikoshi shrines to be transported to Yokota Air Base, Japan, June 9, 2025. Mikoshi shrines are traditional Japanese, portable shrines believed to serve as a temporary home for Shinto deities.
