Yokota Air Base has continuously demonstrated an interest in traffic safety and actively participated in the prevention of traffic mishaps in the local community. The award was given in recognition of the Safety Office's continuous cooperation with the Metropolitan Fussa Police station to help prevent accidents through local traffic safety activities. Some of the examples of cooperation includes: Coordination to set up a booth for the Metropolitan Police Department at the Safety Fiesta held on base. Opportunities for motorcycle police squads to demonstrate during the Friendship Festival. Also, during COVID-19, security forces helped with distributing English versions of traffic safety awareness pamphlets of the Fussa Police Department to the base community on base and at gates.
