Team Yokota temporarily stood down operations to focus on Total Force resiliency, Nov. 16, at Yokota Air Base, Japan.

Members gathered within their units to discuss the importance of connection and participate in team-building activities with the help of the 374th Airlift Wing Integrated Resiliency Office and their team of Resiliency Training Assistants and Master Resiliency Trainers.

Col. Andrew Roddan, 374th AW commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jerry Dunn, 374th AW command chief, also hosted all-calls throughout the day to remind Yokota’s Total Force about the spectrum of resiliency and the correlating spectrum of support offered by Yokota’s helping agencies.

“Resiliency is built from the ground up,” Dunn reiterated to an audience of hundreds of Airmen, civilians, and contractors. “We have a plethora of tools at our fingertips, and today is about reminding you what they do and how they can help.”

The duo continued to discuss wing agencies and how they support holistic wellness and resilience, including resources for physical fitness, social connection, spiritual mentorship, mental health assistance, relationship counseling, financial planning, sexual assault prevention and response, substance abuse intervention, conflict resolution and mediation, legal assistance, and youth programs, to name a few.

“We need to care about resilience 365 days a year,” said Roddan. “Every day spent fortifying our resilience and making connections is a day well spent.”
