Team Yokota,

The annual Yokota Air Force Assistance Fund (AFAF) campaign will be kicking off again TODAY, 4 March 2024, giving us all another opportunity to help our fellow Airmen and Guardians when they need it most. The AFAF campaign supports four charities that are dedicated to caring for Airmen and Guardians from induction through retirement and beyond.

The four charities are the Air Force Aid Society, General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation, the Air Force Village, and the Air Force Enlisted Village. These aren’t charities you’ll see in your CFC lineup.  They are an example of Air and Space Force people taking care of their own—in a “For Airmen & Guardians, By Airmen & Guardians”, one-of-a-kind campaign. Our annual campaign demonstrates this fact: Airmen and Guardians take Care of our own!

Our base goal for this year is $29,600, and you should soon be seeing a Key Worker visiting your work center to let you know all about the charities, answer any questions you may have, and give you the opportunity to donate if you should so choose. You’ll also be able to participate in fundraising events by way of helping or donating—either way, please get involved if you can! We invite our private organizations and units to be creative and have fun with your fundraisers for AFAF over the next six weeks.

While the average Air Force base has historically had between a 4% and 30% participation rate from their active-duty members, we believe Yokota AFB is far ABOVE average! Yokota leadership hopes that everybody gives serious consideration to giving to these four worthy charities. Just a few dollars a month from your paycheck, credit card, or checking account will ensure your fellow Airmen and Guardians will have the assistance they need when they need it most. And, you never know, you may just find in the future that you have “paid it forward”, and our AFAF charities will be there for you should you need them.
