YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Hirotaka Hasimoto, Hamura City mayor recently invited U.S. Air Force Col. Andrew Roddan, 374th Airlift Wing commander to the Hamura Tulip Festival and Aso Shrine in Hamura, Japan, April 15, 2024.
Hamura is known as the town of flowers, greenery and water; and holds the Tulip Festival in conjunction with Yokota’s Sakura Spring Festival. The 374th AW frequently engages with the surrounding cities and towns through cultural and traditional exchanges, strengthening the partnerships and ties between the base and local community. Through sharing cultures and traditions, Yokota is able to maintain friendships and bonds with the surrounding communities.
