Yokota identifies Airman who died Oct. 1

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan --  The Yokota Airman who died off base Oct. 1 sustained fatal injuries from a fall.

The servicemember, Staff Sgt. Justin Donaldson, 374th Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle dispatcher and operator, had been stationed at Yokota since Jan. 2011.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sergeant Donaldson's family during their time of suffering," said Col. Mark August, 374th Airlift Wing commander.

Donaldson, a Pennsylvania native, is survived by his mother, father and four sisters.

Yokota will hold a memorial service for him Oct. 4.

An investigation remains underway.
