The 374th Maintenance Squadron Munitions Flight stays vigilant to ensure the safety of Team Yokota members.

In order to continuously improve the contingency capability of the 374th Airlift Wing and Yokota's tenant units, the flight maintains crucial equipment and keeps it readily available.

"The munitions flight provides munitions to all of Yokota's base defense forces," said Senior Airman Sean Civitella, 374th MXS munitions inspector.

To make sure the flight can continue their mission successfully, the Airmen train regularly on day-to-day operations and contingency situations.

"On an everyday basis, we maintain war reserve materials and train to ensure safe keeping," said Master Sgt. Jayson Headrick, 374th MXS munitions flight chief. "We practice wartime contingency operations during Yokota's operational readiness exercises and have an occasional fire drill for emergency management exercises."

It's important for the Airmen to train regularly due to the variety of weapons they are responsible for.

"Mostly we have bullets, but we have a variety of aircraft countermeasures for different types of threats an aircraft might encounter as well," said Sergeant Headrick. "We also have a variety of ground base defense munitions."

The Munitions Flight Airmen are proud of all of their hard work and Team Yokota can rest easy knowing they always get the job done.

"This is the greatest munitions flight," said Sergeant Headrick. "We have some really great Airmen working here and I'm very proud to work with them."
