Residents of Tower 4302 may return to their homes Published July 7, 2010 By 374th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Electrical power to all Yokota Air Base East side garden units has been restored, however, one residential tower remains without power. Power has been restored to building 4302, and members are welcome to return their homes at this time. Residents returning to their homes should ensure they run water faucets for at least 2-4 minutes to purge the pipes of stagnant water, throw away any perishable foods, and document potential claims with photographs. All residents of tower 4303 are asked to report to the Kanto Lodge for contingency billeting assignments if they do not yet have arrangements. Progress on the restoration of power continues, however repairs are estimated to take up to an additional 48 hours. Air conditioning to quarters on the East side remain inoperative due to limited load capac-ity on the remaining transformer. The civil engineer squadron is working as hard as they can to replace or repair the inoperative transformers. Residents can expect service degradation to continue for up to one additional week. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
