Beginning in April members stationed at Yokota will have more choices for stops on the Patriot Express.

Travelers will have the option of traveling to Korea on an aircraft that departs Yokota on Wednesdays, or flying to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Fridays.  The Korean route takes passengers to Osan and Kunsan Air Bases before returning to Yokota and then continuing on to Washington.

The new route for the Patriot Express was driven by customer demands to promote quality of life for airmen and soldiers stationed in Korea.

"These changes could not come at a better time since the Air Force is focusing on military families," said Airman 1st Class Jerry Duvall, 730th Air Mobility Squadron passenger service agent.

Patriot Express flights are operated by commercial airlines and contracted by the Department of Defense to provide transportation for military members, dependents and civil service employees.

"We hope to continue providing outstanding, timely and first rate service to the men and women of the Armed Forces who truly deserve it," said Airman Duvall.

The flights will also be conducted on a more fuel-efficient Boeing 767. The plane will provide greater leg room and increased seating for passengers.

Since flight times are subject to change, airman Duvall said travelers should call the passenger terminal by 8 p.m. the night prior to confirm show times.
