AudioNotes aids doctor and patient communication Published Feb. 24, 2010 By Airman 1st Class Lynsie Lorenz YOKOTA AB, Japan -- The 374th Medical Group has implemented a new message retrieval service for their patients. AudioNotes is a way for patients to get physician-interpreted messages of their lab and x-ray results easily through a personalized voice messaging service. After physicians interpret test results, they can record voice notes to patients using the secure system. The patient can then access the results from any telephone using a personalized identification number (PIN). Yokota's Patient Safety Manager, Scott Chittenden, says this new system is yet another application to ensure the lines of communication between patient and physician stay as open as possible. "AudioNotes saves time and money," said Mr. Chittenden. "It is a convenient method for both patient and doctor." Patients interested in using the AudioNotes messaging service should ask their provider how to get set up and access the message center. For more information, contact Scott Chittenden at 225-8989.
