Safety office receives award Published Jan. 5, 2010 By Airman 1st Class Katrina Menchaca 374th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 374th Airlift Wing Safety Office recently received a certificate of appreciation for traffic safety education from the Fussa police chief and the Fussa Traffic Safety Association president during a ceremony at the Hamura Community Center. Fussa Police chief Hiroichi Kasahata and FTSA President Kazuo Kato presented the award to Lt. Col. Timothy Rapp, 374th AW chief of safety. To promote safe driving on and off base, the safety office staff provides driver education training on Japanese and Yokota driving rules, according to Masaharu Kawagishi, 374th AW ground safety program administrator. The staff also conducts seatbelt checks, traffic safety education classes and a motorcycle safety campaign.
