Yokota Tax Center seeks volunteers

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan --  The Yokota Legal Office needs volunteers to help run the base tax center this year.

The center consists of volunteers only, both active duty and civilian. Volunteers receive training from members of the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Representative Program. The training qualifies volunteers to assist in the preparation and filing of 1040EZ forms, 1040A forms and 1040 forms. Volunteers also gain experience preparing interest and dividend income, as well as earned income credit.

The IRS will conduct the VITA training Jan. 25-28. The tax center will run from February through June.
