Matt Summers 374th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Yokota's 2009 Summer Hire Program will run June 29 through Aug. 7. The program provides federal employment opportunities for eligible family members ages 14 to 23. Seventy-two youth participated in the program in 2008. Applications are currently available on the 374th Force Support Squadron's Air Force Portal page, the squadron's manpower and personnel SharePoint site, at the middle and high schools and at the civilian personnel office in Room 217 Bldg. 316. Civilian personnel officials will accept applications May 11-15 on a first come, first serve basis. "Incomplete applications will not be accepted, so please read your application package very carefully and use the checklist provided," said Shirley Rogers, 374th Mission Support Group school liaison officer. Both part-time (20 hours) and full-time (40 hours) per week positions are available. The pay rate for this year's program is $5.15 per hour. Workers will not earn leave. Applicants must be command-sponsored and must be 14 years old by June 30 and no older than 23 years old on June 29. Base units may request rehire of employees from the 2008 program. The deadline has passed for units to request summer hires.
