374 AW DCOM celebrates final farewell March 17, 2025

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan –

A farewell celebration was held for U.S. Air Force Col. Brett Cochran, 374th Airlift Wing deputy commander, at Yokota Air Base, Japan, March 14.

The farewell celebration included a cake cutting, a farewell speech, and gifts for Cochran as a thank you for his hard work and dedication as 374th Airlift Wing deputy commander.

As deputy commander, he was responsible for assisting the wing commander in the management, training and facilitating command and control of the Department of Defense’s premier airlift hub in the Pacific theater.

This is Cochran’s second tour at Yokota, with his first taking place from 2009-2012, when he served as a C-130H Hercules instructor pilot and chief of command post, and was a crucial part of Yokota’s response during the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and ensuing tsunami that devastated eastern Japan.
