YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 374th Force Support Squadron Samurai Fitness Center received an upgrade in equipment at Yokota Air Base, April 15.
The fitness center staff set about refreshing exercise equipment that was reaching the end of their lifespans. The facility received 41 new pieces of equipment, including leg extension machines, pull-down machines and weightlifting platforms.
“We’re always looking for better ways to cater to the entire installation and ensure we have the equipment people need to get after their goals,” said U.S. Air Force Lt. Col Hasmin Bolling, 374 FSS commander. “With time being a precious commodity, having more equipment will help people get through their workouts and get back to the mission faster.”
The upgrade in equipment was set up in part from a routine five-year refresh plan, and from feedback received from the community. Additionally, in February the facility initiated the resurfacing of the basketball court, which will reopen in Fall 2025.
“These improvements aim to support the overall health and wellness of the base community,” said Tech. Sgt. Daryl Delosreyes, 374 FSS fitness center operations manager. “Routine equipment refreshes help ensure the seamless and consistent physical readiness of our warfighters and continued utilization by the Yokota community.”
Improvements toward the award-winning facility bolster the warrior ethos and warfighting readiness of Yokota Air Base members and families. Top-tier facilities remain critical in strengthening Yokota’s forces as they operate in the Indo-Pacific theater.
