Biennial Mid-Air Collision Avoidance conference prioritizes flight safety in shared airspace Oct. 6, 2025

Aviators across the Kanto Plains gathered for the biennial Mid-Air Collision Avoidance conference, held Oct. 3, to discuss regional flight safety efforts at Yokota.

Also known as the MACA seminar, the event was established in 2010 as a method to promote flight safety, cohesion and synchronized communication between all flying entities in a shared airspace - ultimately preventing mid-air collisions.

To culminate the event, aircraft static displays of the Aero Club's DA42 Twin Star, 459th Airlift Squadron's C-12J Huron, and the 36th Airlift Squadron's C-130J Super Hercules provided hands-on experiences to the local Japanese aviation community.
