ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- Service members, families and volunteers from multiple nations gathered to prepare and build airdrop bundles for Operation Christmas Drop 2025 at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Dec. 6.
Each bundle contains resources like school supplies, clothing, rice, fishing equipment, toys and more, that many Pacific communities rely on throughout the year.
OCD25 is the Department of War’s longest-running humanitarian airlift mission. It began in 1952 after a U.S. Air Force B-29 crew flying near Guam spotted islanders waving from below and dropped supplies as an act of goodwill. It highlights U.S., allies’ and partners’ capabilities to quickly mobilize and project power and airlift operations at a moment’s notice. This multinational effort underscores a shared commitment of regional security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
