Lt. Gen. John L. Dolan, U.S. Forces, Japan and 5th Air Force commander, kicked off the New Year by holding two commander calls at Yokota Air Base, Japan, Jan. 7, 2016.
Dolan used the opportunity to welcome back everyone after the holidays and review the accomplishments that took place last year.

"I wanted to take this time after the break to get us all together and reflect back on last year as we head into 2016," said Dolan. "The list of accomplishments we had last years is huge, each one has improved the alliance here in Japan and more importantly our combat capability, none of those things could have happened without you all."

Taking command of USFJ and 5AF back in June of 2015, Dolan mentioned the many challenges that were faced in 2015, and that 2016 would be filled with more.

"We will have challenges and we are going to work as a team to take them on," said Dolan. "Trust and respect is the glue we have to tackle down a lot of these challenges."
