Air Force unveils new resiliency tool Published Oct. 16, 2013 By Airman 1st Class Soo C. Kim 374th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- The Support and Resiliency Inventory is an assessment tool that examines the perceptions of Air Force members and civilian spouses of AF members about sources of informal and formal support in their lives and about their success in adapting to life challenges and meeting personal and work responsibilities. The SRI takes about 12 to 15 minutes to complete. "We are often saturated with surveys that are not tailored to provide us the data to make changes in our lives," said Ronald Draper, the 374th Airlift Wing community support coordinator. "The inventory gives you the information about yourself that can help you strengthen your resilient makeup." Respondents can see a summary of their responses, an Individual Profile, when they finish. They have a link to develop strategies for improving individual fitness: mental, physical, social and spiritual, as well as social connection components. They also provide a link to informational websites to assist achieving the ideal fitness level. No identifying information is included on the profile which is deleted once the Web browser is closed. "The SRI takes a snapshot of Yokota's overall resiliency and provides the leadership with the pulse of Airmen," Draper said. "Using the immediate feedback from the inventory, participants can make decisions to help their personal resilience and ultimately throughout the entire Department of Defense."
