For those who utilize supplements, or those looking to begin, the Department of Defense launched a website to educate service members on dietary supplements and how to choose them wisely.

Operation Supplement Safety www.hprc-online.org/OPSS offers evidence-based information in various formats from ratings, answering frequently asked questions, an "ask the expert" section and even a supplement rater.

"Many Airmen and their families take supplements to lose weight and improve and performance," said Maj. Stacy Van Orden, 374th Medical Group Health and Wellness Center Flight commander. "With this new program members can make informed and safe decisions."

Rather than focusing solely on supplements, the website also offers information, strategies, tools, apps and videos on the psychological, social, behavioral, spiritual, nutritional, physical and environmental aspects of fitness.

Yokota also offers additional health and fitness resources through the HAWC, 225-8322.
