YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 2016 Combined Federal Campaign – Overseas (CFC-O) kicked off at Yokota Oct. 3. The Campaign provides federal employees and service members with opportunities to donate to over 20,000 charitable organizations. Some are stateside charities, some are well known international charities. Contributors may also choose to donate directly back to Yokota AB to benefit family and youth programs.
The CFC-O is the only authorized way for approved charitable organizations to solicit Department of Defense uniformed service members and civilian employees stationed abroad.
The goal for Yokota is 100% contact, giving every federal employee an opportunity to donate to a charity that is personal and meaningful to them.
This year’s campaign motto, “Show Some Love,” reflects how the generosity of a community can have a positive impact around the globe. One person’s support makes a difference in another person’s life.
Col. Kenneth Moss, 374th Airlift Wing commander, Col. Neil Richardson, 374 AW vice commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Christopher Yevchak, 374 AW command chief, celebrated the 2016 CFC-O kickoff, Oct. 3 at the Wing conference room by folding origami cranes.
“An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish.” said Capt. Cindy Lan, 374th Dental Squadron. “Join us in folding 1000 cranes and bringing help and hope to those in need through the 2016 CFC-O.” Lan added.
Lan and CFC-O members will be folding origami cranes this week in the Yokota Community Center. After folding 1,000 cranes, members will hang these at the YCC.
