The 374th Civil Engineer Squadron fire department commemorated Fire Prevention Week with a series of events designed to educate and inform families about fire safety at Yokota Air Base, Japan, Oct. 8 - 14.

The annual Fire Prevention Week event occurs at most U.S. Department of Defense bases around the world and is considered an important part of overall safety education for military personnel and families. Throughout the week, the 374th CES held events such as a parade, a live fire demonstration, and interactions with first responder mascots.

This year's Fire Prevention Week theme is cooking safety, and the 374th CES fire department encouraged the Yokota community to pay attention to fire prevention safety measures when preparing food.
