Commander's Corner: Mar. 21, 2014

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- With the winter weather behind us, spring is on final approach here in the Tokyo region. It's an exciting time to start planning trips and outdoor activities with friends and family members. Japan offers a rich variety of cultural experiences and its people are gracious hosts who are never hesitant to offer a helping hand with a point in the right direction.

Serving in Japan is a great opportunity, but also presents a big responsibility. All of us here at Team Yokota are ambassadors who make an impression upon those we meet every time we venture from the gate. We may be one of the few Americans our Japanese neighbors meet, so it's important that we make a lasting, positive impact by carrying ourselves with the same pride and professionalism we're committed to in uniform.

As you explore Japan this season, know that each of you plays an important role in building upon the mutual respect and admiration we share with our Japanese allies. I want to thank all of you for your dedicated service, both on and off-duty, as you continue to represent the "Best Wing in the Pacific."
