The United Nations Command (Rear) change of command
YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Group Captain Anthony McCormack, incoming United Nations Command (Rear) commander, receives the guidon from Maj. Gen. Lawrence Wells, Deputy Chief of Staff for the United Nations Command and U.S. Forces Korea, during the change of command ceremony Feb. 01. This is first time in the history of UNC (Rear) that a non-U.S. UN officer assumes command. The UNC (Rear) is composed of eight nations accredited to the United Nations Command: Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, The Philippines, Thailand, Turkey and the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
