Airmen load Japanese helicopter into U.S. C-17
YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Lisa Long, right, and a Japan Ground Self Defense Force member, load a JGSDF CH-47J Chinook helicopter into a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III cargo plane Feb. 23. It was the first time a Japanese helicopter was loaded into another nation's aircraft. The demonstration was conducted the last morning of the Pacific Global Air Mobility Seminar held Feb. 22 and 23. Sergeant Boehm is a loadmaster assigned to the 535th Airlift Squadron, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. The C-17 is also assigned to the 535th Airlift Squadron. The CH-47J is assigned to the 1st Helicopter Brigade at JGSDF Camp Kisarazu in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture. (U.S. Air Force photo by Osakabe Yasuo)
