Yokota students showcase soroban skills
ROPPONGI, Japan -- Kanto Plains-area students work the beads on their sorobans during the 29th Kanto Area Department of Defense Dependent Students soroban contest held at the New Sanno hotel, May 25, Roppongi, Japan. The soroban has been used for thousands of years to do mathematical computations. About 120 students ranging from grades two through eight competed for both the written and oral components of the contest. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Andrea Salazar)
