Five inches of snow fell on base in just over seven hours Feb. 14-15, causing base leadership to call out the plows to clear the runway, taxiways and roadways, Yokota Air Base, Japan. The accumulation paled in comparison to the record 15 inches of snow that fell at Yokota Feb. 15-16, 1968, breaking a mark that had stood since 1951. The record snowfall for Tokyo is 18.3 inches in 1883, according to historical records. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Katrina R. Menchaca)
