U.S. Forces Japan and Fifth Air Force Command Chief Master Sgt. James Laurent, Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chief of Staff, Japan Joint Staff Warrant Officer Mitsunori Watanabe, and 374th Airlift Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Manuel Roblesreynoso attended a Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) Engagement at Camp Komakado, Camp Fuji and Camp Kiti-Fuji to gain a better understanding of Japan Ground Self Defense Forces operations and capabilities Sept. 27, 2013. During the visit American and Japanese SELs learned how the JGSDF are trained; revealing similarities in the way U.S. Forces and Japanese Forces conduct international operations. "I was particularly impressed with their service in humanitarian and peacekeeping operations around the globe," said Laurent. "The service members we met were very impressive and I look forward to more bilateral engagements with them in the future." (Japan Self Defense Force courtesy photo)
