Spirit of hope
Nose art, “Spirit of Hope,” placed onto C-130J Super Hercules 15-5813 at Yokota Air Base, Japan, May 19, 2017. The artwork celebrates the United States Air Force's dedication to providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to nations throughout the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. The artwork itself is a rendering of an Air Force C-130 airdropping humanitarian aid during Operation Christmas Drop. For 65 years running, Yokota Air Base aircraft and personnel have supported this event. In 2016 alone, four C-130s from Yokota, along with the Royal Australian Air Force and Japan Air Self-Defense Force, airdropped 25 tons of aid to 25,000 people spread across 56 Micronesian islands.
