Sakura trees undergo refresh through 374 CES

A sakura tree is freshly-planted during the annual sakura replanting at Yokota Air Base, Japan, May 21, 2025. Blooming in spring, sakura trees are a key feature of Yokota during the Sakura Spring Festival, which celebrates the strong ties between the U.S. Air Force and the surrounding Japanese communities. Regular monitoring and maintenance of the sakura reflect the base community’s commitment to nurturing a flourishing friendship with Japan. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Tristan Truesdell)
