Don't be a no-show

Our goal at the 374th Medical Group is to meet the healthcare needs of you and your family by providing the best possible medical care and access to our services.

In order to provide the appointments needed for your family, we require your help in preventing no-shows. Last minute cancellations and not showing up for your scheduled appointments have a negative impact on your access to services.

In 2011, there were 2,872 missed appointments throughout the 374 MDG. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may sometimes occur resulting in missed visits.

However, by not coming to an appointment, you are negatively affecting your health, as well as, preventing your family and colleagues from getting a needed appointment.

Finally, missed appointments are costly. In 2011, the no-shows resulted in more than $1.4 million in lost productivity, which affects all our pocketbooks.

To decrease the amount of no-shows, the 374 MDG appointment reminder system calls patients two days prior to their scheduled appointment.

Please note however, that it uses the most current phone numbers listed in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, so it is critical to update your local phone number in DEERS. You can do this by calling (800) 538-9552 or by visiting the website www.dmdc.osd.mil/aapj/address/login.

Help us take care of you and your family by canceling 24 hours in advance so that your appointment can be offered to another patient. You can cancel by contacting the 374 MDG central appointments line at 225-8864, or if you booked your appointment using www.tricareonline.com, you can cancel it online.

As we improve our processes, we welcome your feedback. To provide feedback, contact Capt. Tara Lovell, 374 MDG Group Practice Manager at 225-7265.
